This Y was founded in 2003 in order “to strengthen the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living, social responsibility.”

We embrace diversity and are open to all. Our focus is healthy living – nutrition and physical activity. We offer a lot of group exercise classes, aquatic classes, personal training, afterschool care, summer camp, gymnastics for children, and more.
We have over 2,000 members. We offer over 60 exercise classes each week. We averaged 50 children in summer camp.

Because of its mission. As a Y, we can positively impact the lives of children and adults. We can make a difference in the health and well-being of local residents. I’ve been with the YMCA for 15 years, 5 years here in Lexington, and I diligently work the Y mission and increasing the visibility of the Y mission, alongside of Y staff.
The golf tournaments and the Silent Auctions bring folks together for a ‘good cause’ – seeing everyone engaging with one another, connecting and sharing laughter, is one of my favorite images of the Y’s work.
