Boxerwood is a Nature Center and Woodland Garden located just outside Lexington, Virginia, that is dedicated to educating and inspiring people of all ages to become successful stewards of the Earth.
Their fifteen acres feature both native and unusual plant specimens from wetlands to forests to fields. They run award winning education programs on site and at local schools and along local rivers. See their website for periodic special events. The garden is open every day of the week during daylight hours. Visiting the garden is free, but they welcome donations and memberships.
United Way of Rockbridge helps fund their program for elementary school children.
