Blue Ridge Autism Center and the Achievement Center merged in June of 2009 to form Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Center. In August 2009, BRAAC opened a satellite center in Buena Vista, VA. The center serves students with autism and developmental disabilities in need of individualized, intensive intervention.
Patti Cook, Administrative Director
BRAAC offers private day school services for students with autism and developmental disabilities. Applied Behavior Analysis is the primary teaching method utilized in the center. Students’ programs include an in-home teaching component. Additionally, BRAAC provides community training and consultative services for the public schools.
BRAAC maintains a waiting list for students wishing to access this program. BRAAC seeks to facilitate transitions for students who are ready to transition to a less restrictive environment. We have facilitated several successful transitions since opening in 2009.
